From a very early age this young man always saw himself one day wearing the facial moko as our ancestors once did..for the last 4 years he has actively pursued this to happen. With many challenges, objections, rejections,and negative responses from many family members ,friends and colleagues towards his desire to wear the moko kanohi... he never lost focus for his vision to finally become a reality...
I take this time to thank Regan for giving me the privilege to do this for him...a humble young man who knows exactly what he wants to do in life and how he sees himself in the Maori world...with humility and fearless courage his moko was born...
I have no doubts that he will be an outstanding role model and ambassador for Maori wherever his life leads him.
